It holds a lot of water and is heavy when full so I would recommend filling it with a pitcher, not under the faucet if you are old and have back problems like myself. Some reviewers have stated that the product is ugly, but it is not in my opinion; white with a baby blue top. So far my 12 week old Lab, Thor, loves it and he sticks his nose all the way down into the center but my older dog, Grizzy, is a little hesitant. I am sure once he realizes how cool and fresh the water is he will be happy with it. I also purchased a Catit fountain for my Ragdoll, Rascal, and that was equally easy to set-up and held a smaller amount of water so it was easy to fill and position. I am hoping the pumps last and I can get away with changing the filter every 3 weeks (crossing fingers)but I putchased 12 of each so that should last me a little while. This is a great product I would recommend and it will be easy to rinse/change the filter and clean the unit. "
